I just wanted to say a little something about my oma. She is the most loving, talented and giving person i know. I am so grateful for the close relationship i have with her and that she lives near by. She has taught me so many things over the years. I love her so much!

Santa comes to our house early!

Our friends the McGinnis and Ray families came by on several ATV's and a golf cart that were all lit up with Christmas lights. Santa was riding a small ATV that was also lit up. Thanks for coming by. ( Dont know who the Santa was but Kevin sure got a kick out of visiting with him!)

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. I thought I would make "real" whip cream but got busy fixing other things and found yellow chunks in my mixing bowl. At first I thought it turned sour or something and then I had to laugh when I figured out I had whipped it too long and I now had yummy fresh butter! No complaints from the family, they loved the butter on the fresh rolls oma made.

Welcome little Will

Lindsay and I went to visit the newest member of the White/Mullin family. He sure is a cutie and I think he has doubled in size by now. We also think Teresa is feeding him "Miracle Grow" breast milk.

Breast Cancer Walk/ Phoenix Az

Yeah almost 2 years cancer free. I love to have my daughters with me at the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk. I look forward to 2009 and another year of health! Now if I could only get rid of the hormone pills and my hot flashes.

Yay for lindsay and jared! Last Friday we celebrated jareds graduation and had a fun time visiting and eating with lots of family.

I still have not figured out how to do the photo add stuff. Took me 20 minutes to find the pictures I just scanned. Perhaps I should wait until one of my kids get home and they will show me how to do this blog posting correctly. I think Paul and my brother have a connection. Not only do they look alike but they are both adventurous souls!

Muscle man Kevin

I love being a mom. Okay MOST of the time I love being a mom. Last night was not one of those times. Kevin woke up 5 times last night. Twice to get a drink (he insists I come with him to the kitchen) then diapers changes, then ostomy dumping and then back to bed and grinding of the teeth. ( Kevins teeth not mine) Up again at 2 AM to check out the room and toys. Then about 3 AM he gives me the uh uh signal that his ostomy bag is leaking. I get up and get him to the bathroom and cover him in orange ostomy tape and hope it holds a few hours. He runs out of the bathroom and gets into our bed and snuggles by Ron. Four AM I feel something wet and assume Kevin is really sweating. No such luck! Yes the tape slid off and ostomy stuff (okay poop) is all over my sheets. We do the bathroom thing again and this time I change the ostomy completely and put him in his bed and I clean up. Another fun night of mommyhood. Its not fun when it is happening but I really do laugh about it later. We need to see the humor in our lives otherwise we would be crying way too much. Do I hear a AMEN???

Tile redo

So did I mention that our tile is being replaced throughout the house? We had it put in a year ago and it started coming up months after they finished installing it. So here we go again ....moving furniture and clothes and dishes and bodies and beds just to have our tile repaired. It tastes like dust in my house!

The results of watching too many home improvement shows!

Ron and Paul had big fun tearing up our kitchen counter. Ron rented a jack hammer to put in the electrical stuff. What a mess that was. Concrete and dust everywhere. Now we wait until we can afford new counters. Hmmmm...perhaps we should have figured that out before we started.

Pauls thumb update

The thumb started to swell, the fingernail turned blue and then fell off. He loves being a carpenter!

OUCH!!!

Paul has an internship at a construction company for the summer and today he got his first injury. As you can plainly see his thumb is the same color as the ice pack from smashing it with a hammer.

FINALLY!!!!!!!

Kevin got up and escaped as usual from us and headed towards the bathroom and when Helen and Alison caught up to him he was sitting on the toilet with his diaper down! Did i forget to mention he is almost thirteen years old? We really didnt think he could ever get this thing down but hey its a start. I (Alison) whipped out my camera and recorded the action but this stupid computer wont let me download it.

Pauls Graduation

Pauls started at 7:00 on the same thursday as Kevins. He had his graduation at the Mesa Arts Center because his school was too small to have a football field. It rained the whole night and everyone was so happy it was held indoors. Oma and Opa were able to come but lindsay and jared got in that accident. Paul was able to win a few awards as well....the perfect attendance award and the choices you make today award!

Kevins graduation was at 11:oo two thursdays ago. He was the only one graduating from his class and had the stage to himself. Helen, Ron (on his lunch break) and Alison made it. He is going to attend Stapley Junior High next year and i reminded my mom that in 8 more years he will graduate from high school!

First sunburn of the summer

Kevin absolutely loves going in our pool. Inspite of it being cold yesterday, he stayed in for about 45 minutes. He got himself a little sunburn so we whipped out the aloe vera spray. He liked it so much that after we sprayed it on his back he wanted it on his stomach, arms and bum. Strange child;-)

Once a year just isnt enough

Kevin absolutely loves to blow out candles! Whose ever birthday it is we like to relight the candles a second time just for him.
